As I said it's a very odd way of doing things, I really don't understand the specifics though.Īpparently there are other Tube DACs on the market but again I'm unsure as to the specifics. That said, the T1 sounds pretty great and does benefit (albeit in a muted way) from tube changes, I switched the original on mine for a Genalex Gold Lion and it was a noticeable improvement. I've always assumed there may be some extra conversion going on, which at face value doesn't sound fantastic. Suffice it to say you only gain the effects of tube changes while using the DAC, you can bypass it to use the AMP as a stand alone, which as I said, is fully solid state.
